About Jamia Jackson

My name is Jamia Jackson, LSW. I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families navigate life’s challenges while building the emotional skills needed to thrive. I work with children and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, ADHD, low self-esteem, life transitions, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

Childhood and adolescence can be filled with challenges that are difficult for young people to express. Your child may become withdrawn, irritable, anxious, struggle in school, act out behaviorally, or have difficulty managing big emotions. They may seem overwhelmed by friendships, family changes, academic pressures, or everyday responsibilities. As a parent, you may feel unsure how to help or frustrated that the strategies you’ve tried aren’t working. Together, we’ll work to better understand what your child is experiencing, identify their strengths, and develop practical tools that promote confidence, resilience, and healthy emotional growth while strengthening your family’s ability to navigate challenges together.

I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based interventions, play-based techniques, and strengths-based therapy to meet children and adolescents where they are developmentally. Together, we will teach practical coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, problem-solving techniques, and healthy communication skills that can be used both at home and in everyday life. My goal is to help families feel empowered with the tools they need to foster lasting growth, resilience, and healing.
