Biography

Hopefully you had a chance to check out the Meet the Founder tab or read Meet the Founder of Hyde Park Center for Healing article.  If not please feel free to do so! But while you are here, let me give you just a little bit more about me and the practice.  The practice is actually almost 2 years old now! We have seen an incredible amount of growth and as a result I have been able to hire the other specialists you see on the site.

The majority of my population is African American and that is so exciting to see! The stigma around mental health has really been shifting and we are now starting to prioritize our mental health. While that is the population that often seeks out my assistance, I am open to and have experience working with all populations. I want you to come and get comfortable in my office. Lay out on the couch, take off your shoes, grab a blanket or a pillow, or a nearby grounding object that I have laying around, like a fidget spinner.

As the practice grows, I continue to grow as well and continue to learn about evidence based strategies to best help you address any symptoms you may be experiencing. I am currently being trained in EMDR therapy. A very powerful strategy to reprocess traumatic experiences and make them feel more adaptive than painful. I believe that you are worthy, you are valuable, you are powerful, you are amazing. And if anybody, including yourself, has told you otherwise, come in so that we can help you tap into what I know you already have within: Power.
